Hurling out some questions
Just a minute ago, the cat threw up - projectile vomiting all over the mass of wires behind my Tivo. That was fun to clean up!

This begs two questions:

1) Where is the worst or most unusual place your cat (or other pet) has left some bodily fluids?

My male cat has peed on beds and suitcases in the past in response to some environmental change he doesn't like (we are out of town, kitty litter is too dirty, etc.) Those are the worst to deal with but not all that unusual. Behind the Tivo was a new one for us.

2) What is considered normal vomit frequency when you own a pet?

I have two cats, one vomits about once every two to three weeks for seemingly no reason (no hairballs, chronic diseases, etc. - I think just kitty acid reflux). The other cat, only once or twice a year. My dog, has hurled maybe four times in the 1 1/2 years we've had her.

Come on, I know you want to talk about vomit! There must be some good stories out there....

Ancho goes in phases, but her puking is relatively frequent, unfortunately. There were two for me to clean up at lunch today.

Every so often, our cat will hairball on the rug outside the bathroom. Try stepping on that in your bare feet half asleep in the middle of the night.

No puking aside from hairballs or some weird greenery he's nibbled on. And leaving him alone for a couple of days leads to being ignored for another two or three days.

I have no novel locations to report. I did find one small piece of poo behind the couch when I got back from vacation yesterday.

Alex hardly ever barfs. When he does, it's usually because of a hairball. (And he has much longer hair than Gracie, too.) Gracie, on the other hand, barfs with great regularity. At best, every couple weeks, but at worse, several times a week.

Reasons she barfs:

1) Mad at me for not being home enough (maybe? Seems to happen more often when I am not home)
2) Because she eats her food too quickly
3) Just because

She's barfed on the sofa, in her own makeshift styrofoam bed (just once -- obviously she can control where she barfs), on my curling bag, on the carpet all over (of course). When she barfs on the bathroom floor or the entryway, she gets praised, because that is *much* easier to clean up. Sigh!

Btw, you probably want to check out [info]nasty_pets.

The cat has puked on the bed more than once. He goes in phases, probably puking every couple of weeks. Usually, it's just unchewed food that he wolfed down, it's worse when I go out of town and just leave him with enough food and have a neighbor check on him every few days. Or maybe it just seems like it's worse because I think the dog does do a fair amount of cat puke clean up without me knowing.

The dog has puked half a dozen times in the two years I've had him. Always on the carpet.

Romeo tends to leave skid marks all over my carpets. I usually catch him scooching on his rear end at least once a month....

Caesar pukes almost everyday. I cannot leave any paper out (tissue, toilet, napkins, wrapping...you name it.) He also eats too quickly and gets air in his belly pukes.

Caesar once puked in my sock drawer and all over my face when I was sleeping.

ugh. I knew someone would have a puke on story! :)

It is possible my cat eats too fast as well. He usually hurls an hour or two after eating. He'll be sleeping and then all the sudden just vomit. Depending on where he is resting this can be quite a mess.
